Matthew Amrhein, PE
Matt Amrhein is the owner and principal engineer at Gallatin Peak Engineering. He spent his formative engineering years in Washington where he contributed to the success of several steel and concrete skyscraper projects in downtown Seattle. After and his family moved to Bozeman in early 2020, custom high-end residential projects throughout Montana became his expertise. On the surface these two regions might seem different, however from a structural perspective they share the common attributes of high seismic and heavy snow loads. Matt applies his deep knowledge of these phenomena to every design as a licensed Professional Engineer in both Montana and Washington.
Whether working on a new custom home or existing home renovation, Matt is able to see each project from the perspective of the owner, architect, and contractor to arrive at cost-effective, aesthetic, and buildable designs. He also prides himself on clear communication and responsiveness; when your project gets lost in the shuffle at larger engineering firms, Matt makes your project a top priority.
Matt and his amazing wife spend as much time as possible outdoors watching their son play baseball, daughter raise chickens, or camping as a family. And when not skiing together during the winter you’ll find Matt at the hockey rink, either at the fairgrounds or the one he makes every year in his back yard.
